September 2015 Update:

The move draws closer and our excitement is building!  We're starting to get a real feel for how the new building is going to look and function and plans for our actual move are taking shape.

Press Release: Countdown to the new Croft Medical Centre begins

Patients of the new Croft Medical Centre in Chelmsley Wood only have a matter of months before they can utilise the brand new facilities offered at the Centre.

Formerly known as Craig Croft Medical Centre, the new building nears completion – with an opening date of 30 November 2015.

Staff and patients can look forward to moving into a new, spacious, two-storey building. The space will be dominated by the General Practice, with an area for the local Clinical Commissioning Group, which will strengthen working relationships between the health commissioner and local doctors.

The local CCG will also work with the local authority regarding their extensive regeneration plans - a good example of local government, local community and NHS coming together.

Practice Manager, Veronica Parkes, said: “The team have been involved in the design and development of the new building from day one. There has been a lot of planning, and we’ve been involved in the design. We really hope patients will enjoy the new building.”

The Centre will be situated at 1 Pomeroy Way, alongside a new pharmacy and dental practice in the new village centre of Chelmsley Wood. It will also include rooms that can be let to external organisations.

Dr Anand Chitnis, Chair and Clinical Lead of Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group and GP, said: “The new Centre will mean patients and staff will have a new modern facility, as well as being at the heart of the new surrounding area at Chelmund’s Cross.

“The Centre will build on the concept of village centres, with a focus for healthy communities, wellbeing in body, mind and spirit. This can be achieved through local activities in community centres, community gardens, and leisure facilities, alongside the NHS in the form of this new GP surgery.”
